Why freelancer filing is different
A salaried return has one employer, one salary certificate and one clean deduction figure. A freelancer's return frequently involves several clients, payments arriving through different channels, income that varies month to month, business expenses that need to be substantiated, and foreign remittances that must be documented correctly.
None of that is a problem. It simply takes more work and more care, which is why we quote it individually rather than pretending it fits a fixed price.
Who this is for
- Freelancers on Upwork, Fiverr and similar platforms
- Remote workers employed by companies outside Pakistan
- IT and software exporters
- Consultants and independent professionals
- Sole proprietors and small business owners
- Anyone earning from several sources at once
What we look at
- Income across all sources. Platform earnings, direct clients, local and foreign payments.
- How money reached you. Bank channel and remittance documentation matter.
- Business expenses. What is genuinely claimable and what evidence supports it.
- Tax already deducted. Withholding by banks, platforms and clients.
- Applicable treatment. Whether any reduced-rate or special regime applies to your case.
- Wealth statement. Reconciled against what you actually earned.
On foreign remittances. How your foreign income arrives in Pakistan and how it is documented has real consequences for how it is treated. If you are receiving payments from abroad, raise it with us early rather than at filing time.
Records worth keeping through the year
Filing gets dramatically easier when you keep a simple record of invoices raised, payments received with dates and amounts, bank credit advices for foreign payments, platform earnings statements and business expense receipts. If you have none of this, we still work with what you have. It just takes longer.
Getting a quote
Send us a short description of your situation on WhatsApp: how many income sources you have, whether any of it comes from abroad, and whether you have filed before. We will come back with a realistic quote and an honest view of the work involved.
Please verify current figures. Tax rates, thresholds, penalties and due dates are set by the Federal Board of Revenue and change with each Finance Act. Always confirm the current position for your tax year on the official FBR website or with us before acting.
