Who needs to file an income tax return?
In Pakistan, filing requirements depend on your income, your assets and your circumstances rather than on job title alone. People who commonly need to file include salaried employees above the taxable threshold, freelancers and consultants, business owners and sole proprietors, people who own property or vehicles, and anyone who wants to appear on the Active Taxpayers List.
If you are unsure whether filing applies to you, that is the first thing we check. It takes one WhatsApp message and costs nothing.
What our filing service covers
- Income and salary review. We go through your salary certificate and any other income.
- Tax deduction review. Tax already deducted by your employer or bank is accounted for.
- Bank information review. Relevant account activity and closing position.
- Assets and liabilities. Property, vehicles, investments, cash and outstanding loans.
- Return preparation. Your return is prepared with everything in its correct place.
- Wealth Statement support. Prepared alongside the return where it applies to you.
- Explanation before submission. You see and understand it before anything is filed.
- Final copy for your records.
How the process works
- Message us on WhatsApp. Tell us your situation in a sentence or two.
- Get your document checklist. We tell you exactly what applies to your case, not a generic list.
- Share your documents securely. We provide a secure route once your case is qualified.
- We review and prepare. Your return is prepared and any gaps are raised with you.
- You review and approve. Nothing is submitted until you understand what it says.
- Filing and final records. You receive your filing information and final copy.
What it costs
Straightforward salaried return filing starts from PKR 3,500. A review of a return you already have starts from PKR 2,500. Freelancers, business income and multiple income sources are quoted individually because the work involved genuinely differs. See the full pricing breakdown.
When should you file?
The standard due date for individual and AOP income tax returns is 30 September following the end of the tax year. Filing early is materially easier: you have time to locate missing documents, ask questions and correct problems rather than rushing in the final week.
Please verify current figures. Tax rates, thresholds, penalties and due dates are set by the Federal Board of Revenue and change with each Finance Act. Always confirm the current position for your tax year on the official FBR website or with us before acting.
Why people choose NuvTax
Behind NuvTax is a team with around three decades of experience inside Pakistan's tax system, including senior careers in federal tax administration. That background is why our approach is built around review and explanation rather than simply pushing a submission through. More about who we are.
